This was soon followed by “crying for a vision” during a Vision Quest of 4 days and nights without food in the wilderness under this Medicine Man’s guidance and protection. This was later followed by his mentoring in Ancient Medicine Wheels and other Sacred Ceremonies. I have been mentored and guided in these ceremonies by additional medicine men in 3 other nation traditions.

I was blessed by all of them to do these ceremonies by following, without question, my guidance from the Great Spirit, for they all saw how red my blood is. IN NO WAY do I ever claim being blessed to perform their individual nation ceremonies! I integrate the Spirit of these ceremonies through the intuitive guidance of the Great Spirit and my own Spirit Guides as they each instructed. During the last several months of my mother dying from lung cancer, she whispered : “Son, you need to know why all your life you have been so interested in that Native Indian stuff … your great great grand parents, Will and Mahala, used to go to a reservation to collect a regular check” . I have not had sufficient name and date of birth information to locate their official records.

This training and mentoring then went along concurrently with that of Tom Brown, Jr. the famous tracker, author, teacher and creator of the Tracker School in New Jersey. Tom and his friend Rick were trained by one of the last true Apache Scouts, Grandfather Stalking Wolf, in the art of tracking, ancient artifact tool making, wilderness awareness and survival skills in the Pine Barrens as well as in the principles and ceremonies in the path of the shaman and Vision Quests. I have been trained and have served as a Protector for many choosing the Wilderness Vision Quest in Northern Idaho, England, Illinois, Wisconsin and now Arizona, etc. In addition, I have participated in workshops with Michael Harner and Dr. Felicitas Goodman.

For around 15 years prior and concurrent with the above, I became a certified teacher of Meditation and Hatha Yoga in the Raja Yoga tradition through the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania under the founder, Swami Rama and the current Chairman and Spiritual Head, Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, PhD.

All the above followed two years study to become a Catholic Diocesan priest, followed by a B.S. in Education for K-12 in Psychology and History at Illinois State University. This was followed with study and being ordained a United Methodist minister at Garrett Theological Seminary on the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and serving a couple years as minster of a rural church in the Midwest.

I have a Masters Degree in the Management and Development of Human Resources from National Louis University in Evanston, Illinois and completed Mediation and Conflict Resolution Certification serving Illinois Kane County 16th Judicial Court. I was certified by Ned Herrmann himself in the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI) Applied Whole Brain Teaching Learning and Educational Design/Development created by Ned. Ned and I both served together under contract with IBM at their executive Education Center in Palisades, New York, where I developed Non-verbal Communication Skills courses for IBM instructors in their new high tech classrooms. I was among the first to develop experiential personal and professional development programs in Creative Coping Strategies/Stress Management and Non-verbal Communication. May Masters Thesis: “Stress Level Survey Pilot-Test and a New Stress Response Cycle Model Viability Test”. Knowing personally and based upon the work of professor and author, Dr Sanford Krolich, I developed an “Ethical Thinking Styles” training program for GE following an O-Ring rocket launch failure.

In 2002, I became a Reiki Master Teacher at the Traditional Reiki Master Teacher hands of my wife, Kathrine Myers. Soon after, I became a certified Flower of Life Facilitator, teaching Sacred Geometry and the Merkaba under Drunvalo Melchizadek, the author of The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life, Volumes 1 and 2. I was among the original facilitators who encouraged Dru over and over again to get his book(s) written!

Since 2013, I have been integrating the teachings and power of the Ancient Shamanic Wheels of Life with the esoteric teachings of the Cube of Space Tarot from B.O.T.A (Builders of the Adytum). I have served as a professional relational database computer architect computer system designer and data entry application developer for over 30 years in the healthcare industry.

Since 2019, I have designed and developed and co-teach with Dr Brad Boute, the Executive Director of SWIHA, the Principles and Pathways of the Shaman (two 40 hour classes) and the Ancient Shamanic Wheels of Life (40 hour class). I co-developed with KC Miller, Founder, and Dr Brad Boute, Executive Director, and co-teach with Dr. Brad Boute Shamanic Reiki 1, 2, 3 and Beyond (two 40 hour classes), all at the nationally accredited (ACCET) Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) in Tempe, AZ.
